State opera Vienna - Schedule for season 2009/2010

Today was the "new season" press conference of the Vienna state opera (by the way Holenders last one !). Annas is scheduled for two performances of Bohème together with Piotr Beczala, click here. And now it's offical Anna and Rolando will together with Elina and Ildebrando sing Carmen !!! click here =) Anna is furthermore scheduled for 3 performances of I Puritani with Mariusz Kwiecien as Riccardo, click here and for 2 performances of Manon with Roberto as Chevalier, click here. Well if I would have a machine which prints money, I would know sure where I would be very often next year...; )))

Anonym hat gesagt…: Actually, I do not like him but Anna likes singing with him. Probably, she feels comfortable on stage with him - watch their Romeo & Juliet from the MET or their Manon from Vienna. So,why not Roberto?

That video...I just coulden't stop laughin :D. But I think he is rather charming...
Well, I have to admit that I'm one of Robertos fans. I think he's great in some repertoar - especially the french one.
I also think that it is good for Anna to work with different tenors (not just Rolando ;)) though Anna & Rolando have this special chemistry.

I read this blog for some time now. I'm glad that there are so many people that share the same passion for opera.

One question for you. I entered the standby ticket line for Traviata in Vienna on May 4th 2009 about 6 months ago. And this morning I got an email from Staatsoper saying they can't give me tickets. This is a total disaster for me. I already bought the flight tickets and everything. So I'll go there no matter what.
If you happen to know someone who's willing to sell two tickets, please let me know. Single tickets are acceptable too.

I'm very, very sorry for you ! I can understand how you must feel like now ! The only way which I know for getting still a ticket is that you will take a standing place. That means that you have to stand on the day of the performance at the ticket box. The rush is always very big so you have better to stand up early ! But the quality of the standing places are really not too bad. I don't know if this is an opportunity for you, hope so !
