Anna Netrebko returns to the state opera's stage

On Saturday will the opera diva be in Vienna again. She sings for the first time the title role in "Lucia di Lammermoor". In May you can experience Netrebko in Verdi's "La Traviata".

Anna Netrebko's baby break is over: After performances in St. Petersburg and at the Met in New York can the choice Viennese now be experienced for the first time again in Austria. Tomorrow, Saturday, stands the opera star on the state opera's stage: Nebtrebko sings for the first time at the house at the ring the title role of Donizetti's "Lucia di Lammermoor". Altogether four performances are planned in March (next to the following Saturday still 17th, 21th and 24th.). Next to Netrebko sing amongst others George Petean (Enrico) and Giuseppe Filianoti (Edgardo), conductor Marco Armiliato.

At the since long time sold-out return there are two musical premiers, too: For the first time in the Vienna state opera's history will Lucia's madness scene, like intended by the composer, accompanied by a glass harmonica, announced the state opera. Furthermore will also the cancelled duett of Lucia and Raimondo (Stefan Kocan) in the second act be heard.

On 04th May in "La Traviata"

The next performance of Netrebko at the state opera is then not be a long time coming: From 04th May will she stand in Verdi's "La Traviata" on the stage again. Netrebko said interim good-bye to the Viennese audience in June last year with a concert together with Rolando Villazón and Plácido Domingo in front of the Schloss Schönbrunn, then in September her son was born.
