Finally the diva is at home again: Anna Netrebko (37) came home from the USA to Vienna. Because tomorrow evening her fiancé Erwin Schrott (35) will sing the titelrole of Mozart's Figaro at the state opera. To get through her postnatale depressions, the neo-mother travelled together with the baby Tiago Arua (1 1/2 months)to New York. And that less hours before her cinema-debut (Dornhelm's La Bohème) in the arms of the man of her heart Erwin Schrott. In the AUSTRIA-interview talks Schrott about his love to Anna and his new father role.
Tomorrow you will celebrate premiere as "Figaro" at the state opera. Do you like working in Austria ?
Erwin Schrott: I love the land's culture and admire the respect, with which the musicians are treated here. The state opera is a place, where all famous artists have performed. It is a privileg to sing here.
How do you like Anna Netrebko as Mimì ?
Schrott: I am very proud of Anna and admire her passion, with which she is going on work.
How do feel as a neo-father ?
To get father again, toughs me in a very positive way. My children are my number ones. No matter what happens: I have to be able to talk with them every day. My daughter Iara (10 years, out of a relation in former times) is a wonderful girl and my son Tiago can be very happy, to have such a nice sister. To be father, makes me very, very happy. It is fantastice to see how the kids grew up every day and learn more and more things. Lone their smiling is compelling. I try to follow my parent's example and do that, what they have done for me: To love my children and support them what ever the are doing.
Vienna is your new center of life ? ...
Schrott: Anna and I will domiciliate us here for some time. For how long, we don't know. Because of our carrers we will consistently be away from home for longer time. I will sing there, where I'll be asked.
When will you sing toghether with Anna ?
Schrott: This isn't planned soon. Exclusive of Figaro I will go back with Don Giovanni to the Met at the end of the year.
