State opera Berlin: Festtage 2010 without premiere

State opera Berlin: Festtage 2010 without premiere

At the Lindenopera's eastern Festtage next year there will be no new production. Reason: There should be shown as much acts as possible in the last season before the redecoration and the move into the Schillertheater.

Next year will Daniel Barenboim conduct even three operas at the Lindenopera's eastern "Festtage": "Tristan und Isolde" (in Harry Kupfers production of the year 2000), "Eugen Onegin" (Achim Freyer, 2008) plus Verdi's "Simon Boccanegra", which will premiere this autumn. There will be no new production, because the opera wants to show as many acts as possible at the Unter den Linden in the last season before the redecoration and the move into to the Schillertheater. Since 1996 was it used to launch a new production at the Festtage and only show it two till three times - to be able to legitimate the extremely raised prices. This courted resentment of a lot Berlin opera fans, because they had to wait at any one time one year, for watching the act with normal prices.

Next to the three operas can 2010 concerts inter alia with Anna Netrebko, Maurizio Pollini as well as Christine Schäfer be experienced. A focus is devoted to the compositions Pierre Boulez's, conduct will Barenboim as well as the french composer himself. The advance sale starts this saturday. The this year's state opera's Festtage start likewise today with Wagner's "Lohengrin".
