This is the cover of Rolando's new album called "Arias". Like it is announced at his Deutsche Grammophon site, a limited deluxe edition of the CD including a DVD will be available, too.

Yes, I don't understand why he holds his hand so strange in front of his face ^^ but the background suits very well and I like it very much that the focus is on his face and especially on his unbelievable beautiful eyes ; )

I suppose the question about this gesture will be asked in many interviews to come. If we're lucky, Rolando will reveal the point. I am sure it has some deep meaning for Rolando and is not simply the photographer's mad idea to grab attention. And you're right - the eyes are beautiful as well as the background. I like his hairdo, too;-)

I did not say it WAS an obscene gesture - but that it looked like one, and is thus unappealing to me personally. No disrespect was intended - as I said before I am one of Rolando's greatest fans. However the mere fact that this thread was started asking for comments about this cover design shows that it is potentially contentious - and as always opinions will differ.The most important thing however is the content of the CD which, as ever with this great artist, I shall look forward to listening to.

People always have different opinions and I think this is a very positiv thing =) From my side it was no critic at all on your comment, I was only I little bit confused because I cannot see anything obsence in this photo ; ) I agree that the CD itself is really a little bit more important then the cover ; )
